Tennessee business man, Lyle Finely, collected a vast holding of Soviet art during the 1990’s and early 2000’s, which is on display in this beautiful hard-back book designed by the great New Yorker graphic artist, Sam Antupit. The book contains essays by Marie Gough, Melissa Hefferlin, Cathy Suter and Lory Frankel. Hefferlin’s husband, Daud Akhriev has work included in the collection, and Hefferlin contributes an essay about the art education process of Soviet Russia. There are paintings by the artists’ friends and teachers in St. Petersburg. 208 pages, measuring 10 x 12 inches. Out of print, and a beautiful book for any coffee table.
